Colouring
After you have moved your lineart to a transparent layer, the rest of the layers that are used to colour the picture will always be under the Lineart layer. (See Example 1)
(Example 1)
The reason for this is because any layer that is ontop on the lineart layer will cover it. Now on to Step one
---------------------------------------------
Step 1:
There's two ways to colour, it all depends on which way you want to start.
Choice 1: Some people like to colour part by part, add in all the details and highlights before starting on another part of the picture.
Choice 2: Shown in Example 2, another way is to colour in all the base colours and add in the details later. Some people choose to do it this was because one more prepared on what colours your going to use.
(Example 2)
---------------------------------------------
Step 2:
Now add the shading using in a darker shade than the base colour with the Lasso tool (Example 3) and just right click fill.(Example 4)
(Example 3)
(Example 4)
---------------------------------------------
Step 3:
Use the Dodge tool(Example 5) To add in Highlights. You can see in Example 5+6 that it's often use in the eyes to give it a glow and the hair to give it a shine.(you see in the eyes that I give it lightand dark shades to give the eyes some dept)
(Example 5)
(Example 6)
---------------------------------------------
Step 4:
Add the finishing touches etc and here are the results! TA-DA!!
*Note*
I'm sorry if this tutorial on how to colour wasn't in-detailed enough you. This is all mostly the basics. The rest (such as styles of cging and drawing etc) is all up to you! Hope this helped!
